  • The tadpole of the South American paradoxical frog is three times the size of the adult frog It can be up to 25 cm (10 in) long and shrinks as it gets older.
  • The biggest of all amphibians is the Chinese giant salamander which can be up to 1.8 m (6 ft) long.
  • The smallest amphibian is the Paedophryne amauensis which is just 7mm (¼ in) long.
